Our family-finding service, Families that Last, finds adoptive families for those children who tend to remain in the care system the longest: older children, children from ethnic minority groups, children who need to be placed with brothers and sisters, and those with disabilities. Adoption touches the lives of one in four people in the UK and After Adoption is dedicated to helping children and adults from all walks of life deal with the difference adoption brings to their lives.
We provide a range of quality, independent adoption support services, including:
- A free national helpline
- Support for birth parents who have lost children to adoption
- Searching and support through reunion for people trying to track down and contact family members
- Groups and counselling for adopted adults
- Assessment and preparation for prospective adoptive parents and support throughout the adoption process
- Family-focused services and events that support adopted children and families
The impact of adoption is lifelong, and we want to be there for those affected by adoption both now and in the future. With your support we can help others find the missing piece and complete their picture.
